I have served as a classroom Teacher, Deputy Head, Headteacher, and Executive Headteacher. I have faced, and continue to face, many of the challenges we all encounter daily. Today, I’m proud to remain a working Headteacher. I still teach, bringing real-world insight and practical solutions. I am approaching the completion of my ILM Coaching qualification, which has strengthened my ability to support and develop others through effective coaching practices
After over twenty five years working in schools, I know how challenging being a Headteacher or Senior Leader can be.
Mercia Coaching was created from a desire to help leaders navigate the everyday problems and pressures we all face in our complex, busy schools.
Why Coaching?
During my career I have often found myself with no one I could truly turn to. Staff were too close to the issues, governors sometimes too challenging or too supportive, and external agencies rarely offered the support I needed. In the busiest moments of school life, I had nowhere to speak openly to think through and begin to untangle the complex challenges I was faced with.
The coaching sessions we offer give you the space you so rarely get—dedicated, interruption free time to think clearly and speak openly. They help you gain perspective, build confidence, and ultimately make better decisions.
With a skilled and ILM qualified coach asking the right questions, clients are supported in finding the best solutions for whatever challenges they are dealing with.Using tried‑and‑tested coaching models the coaching sessions provide structured support that lead to genuine professional growth.
