I have served as a classroom Teacher, Deputy Head, Headteacher and Executive Headteacher. Today, I’m proud to remain a working Headteacher, still teaching and bringing real-world insight and practical solutions.
I am a qualified ILM coach, having studied with HDR Bristol.
After over twenty-five years working across a range of schools, I understand the many challenges of leading a school.
Mercia Coaching was created from a desire to help education professionals navigate the everyday pressures and challenges we all face in complex, busy schools.
Why Coaching & Supervision?
During my career, I have often found I had no one to truly turn to. Staff were too close to the issues, governors sometimes too challenging or too supportive, and external agencies rarely offered the support I needed.
In the most demanding moments, I lacked a safe space to speak openly, reflect clearly, and begin untangling complex challenges.
Coaching — or as I prefer, ‘thinking’ — sessions give you that space and dedicated interruption-free time to think clearly and speak openly. They help you gain perspective, build confidence and make better decisions.
With the right questions, clients are supported to find the best solutions to their challenges. Tried-and-tested models, sessions provide structured support that leads to real professional growth.
